Dark and twisted story

My goodness, this story started out very sad and depressing after Angela loses her husband to cancer. She moves to LA and stays with Thomas who is her friend from college. She also has a best friend Joanna who lives near but only had a one bedroom apartment. She meets a gorgeous man at a club who turns out to be a client and her boss's ex. From there while her relationship with Steve gets hot, her roommate turns bizarre. Everyone is telling her something is wrong with Thomas but she refuses to see even when he gets possessive and acts out. Also her boss is still trying to get Steve back. Without going into detail, Thomas has some deep psychological issues and turns out to be very dangerous to her, Steve and Joanna. His history of violence has been hidden for decades.
I enjoyed reading this because it had both a great love story and a dark suspense aspect to it. What person would think that an old friend of their husbands would drug and rape them or kill?
Characters are very well written and I enjoyed reading about these strong women who fight for friends and family.

Deceived is Suspenseful but with a twist...

This was another roller coaster of a ride. It starts a few days after book 1 left off. Well there is definite tension brewing between Angela and Kim-her boss. Can someone say sabotage? Another big thing in this story is how Thomas is acting…very strange and scary-Joanne and others have commented on it but Angela doesn’t see it---YET. And as for her and Steve—well, it takes awhile for them to get their way back to each other because of the incident of what happened . There is some major twists early on in the book related to Angela's boss and her ties that she has to Angela's roommate , Thomas. Something scary is going on with him and how he views her...something isnt right with him. He gives off a scary vibe. Thomas does something that causes some repurcussions that will vibe on down thru the rest of the book..Let me say be prepared, fully prepared-It wasnt anything Steve did but what Thomas did... Note: There is there is sex involving GSP (Date rape drug). Consent was not given.
What is Thomas going to do next? What is going to happen between Angela and Steven? Will all survive this intact or will there be heartache ahead for Angela? Only thing I wish was there was more interaction between Angela and Steve before this terrible incident between Angela and Thomas… otherwise OMG . this was pure suspense and psychological torture –I felt so bad for Angela— She is all for giving people second chances and all for trying to do the right thing but this is a pure mindtrip of a book that will make the reader, such as myself start going back to read for clues and you might just find it where you least expect one...As for Thomas,I was yelling at my kindle, for Angela to get the heck out of dodge. There is so much more going on. Thomas is motivated by the desire to possess/own/hurt the one thing he really wanted to have to begin with. This story took a purely dark tone and I was on the edge of my seat again—Angela is trying to find out what has been happening with her and what has been causing her to be so sick;
This book moves as rapid pace and there are seveal players in play...the end will have you on the edge of your seat. I loved the end of the book and cannot wait to read what Ms. Walker has next.

painful memories plaque Angela and she just needs a new ...

So much to get over, painful memories plaque Angela and she just needs a new start. When her husband & her best friend talks her into coming to California to start fresh, helps get her job, and her her friend Joanne tries to bring out the old Angela, it seems to be heading in that direction. Angela meet a guy, Steve who brings out feelings she never felt before, but when two people are trying to come between them, it just makes her feel used & so stupid. Thomas has feelings for Angela and he doesn't want anyone to come between them, and he will do whatever it takes to keep her close to him. Just when Angela is beginning to trust and enjoy life, it is ripped out from under her and she feels she can only trust Thomas.
So just when Angela thought her life was falling apart and the man who had started making her believe that she could feel again was part of a bigger plan by Kimberly & Thomas to tear them apart. Angela was made to believe that Steve was still seeing Kimberly ( her boss) when actually Steve wouldn't have anything to do with her. Thomas (thee best friend) is also part of the plot to keep them apart because Thomas is obsessed with Angela. When Angela & Steve finally sit down to talk, Angela decides it is worth it to give is a second chance and they start seeing one another again. When Thomas finds out he get's very upset, and follows Angela after work when she goes to meet Steve, so she can drive one of his race cars. Afterwards, they get down & dirty in the car and Thomas is on a hill some distance away watching and day dreaming that Angela is with him while she is getting down with Steve. Thomas sits into motion a dinner with Angela that she agree's to, even though Joanne & Steve have both told her she need to watch out for Thomas, that they both feel like he is dangerous and might hurt her, but she just thinks that Thomas is over protective because he was so close to her husband Blake. Kimberly is also trying to under mine her at work, making her late for a very important photo shoot, and then Kimberly acting like it was all Angela. When it comes to the dinner with Thomas, he has kept his promise of not drinking, but has spiked the wine he is giving to Angela. Angela has no idea what Thomas has planned for her but it is not good at all. As they are having & Angela is drinking the wine she acting like she is getting really drunk, but it is the drug that Thomas has put in the wine, and when the time is right he plans to take Angela and prove to her that he is who she needs to be with.

Wow each book get's a little better, but Thomas is such a stalker type person, and I can't believe he would do everything he is doing to Angela. Now Kim I can believe, women do stupid thing in the name of maybe love, but for both of them to be playing these games with
Angela. Now that Angela & Steve have gotten more into their relationship Thomas is losing it more, drugging her every night and then taking advantage of her, he's nothing but a rapist that no one knows about. As Angela spends more time with Steve and they get closer, now Angela has a place to move into but still has a few weeks, Thomas and Kim are amping up the ante. When Angela finally get's to the doctor & is told she is being drugged she know it has to be Thomas, and she goes home in search of evidence that he's the one doing it, She finds some things that are incrimanating but no smoking gun, but she continues search and finds a door in Thomas closet that leads to what looks like a attic, but before she can investigate there's a loud banging on the door and she knows Thomas is back, and she is gonna have to let him in. She left her phone on the bed, so she can't call anyone, what is she gonna do?
OMG!!!! The way this story came to a very climatic end, wow!!! After Angela searched Thomas room but didn't have time to search the attic, when she was interupted by the knocking on the door, she finds it's Steve checking on her after her doctors appt. Angela won't tell Steve the truth because she knows he'll go after Thomas and she wants evidence to prove the claim first. She goes out with Steve and enjoys the afternoon with him and when she returns she can tell Thomas is not happy. He tells her he found her phone in his room and she confronts him about the escort cards. As Angela is on her way to her room she notices that Thomas has a dead bolt on his door now and she wonders how she'll get in the room now to find what she will need. She arranges with Joanne to meet for coffee before work and fills her in on everything, and Joanne becomes her shadow til Angela can move out into her own apartment. This only pisses Thomas off more, he & Joanne don't get along and in his warped mind he thinks she is infringing on his time with Angela. When Angela spends the weekend with Steve, Thomas follows Joanne with the intent to harm her to get her out of his way, but it doesn't work. After a week of Joanne being there in his way, Angela get's the call that she can start moving into her place the next day, and she is so excited, til she see's Thomas staring on, and him not understanding why she's so happy. At work that day, everything is going great, Angela meets with Ana about the photo lay out and Joanne comes in and makes Angela tell her all about Thomas and what he's done, when a package arrives with photo's of Kim & Steve which hurts so much, but Ana tells her he wouldn't do that and she will get to the bottom of what is going on. When she and Joanne get her things packed to move, Thomas comes home and he is not happy, but Angela tries to smooth it over so that they can possibly be friends. A few days later when Joanne doesn't show up for their lunch, Ana show's up to tell her that she's in the hospital, that she was attacked, left in a alley just down from where she works. Angela has to go see her, when Ana tells her she will have security for her safety which she doesn't like at all, but she knows how to get out of the hospital without them knowing, and she will go to Thomas's and find what she needs to get him out of all their lives. In the mean time Steve knows the truth and h's on his way to meet Thomas with the intent of bodily harm, but of course Thomas has a surprise for him. Thomas subdue's Steve and leaves to go get Angela, while he's gone Angela show's up and goes straight for the attic, and what she finds there knocks her world for a loop. As she is coming down the hall Thomas comes home and is surprised to see her but happy, he takes her to the kitchen to show her what he has for her.
