Dont waste your money

I don't even know where to begin to use this book. It is not helpful as I am struggling with this class. There is no solution manual to help me learn the problems either. We are not using it in class but my professor suggested we could work for practice. It may be useful as a fire starter.

I recommend the book to everyone who has to use ASP

The most important thing about the book – it is reasonably compact. When I got an ASP.NET MVC project to support, I knew nothing about this project. The book did help me in two days. It gives you a basis to understand how to write ASP.NET MVC applications. The book has written in clear and compact way. The author describes how to route http-requests, how to establish relations between controllers and views, etc. I recommend the book to everyone who has to use ASP.NET MVC right now, but doesn’t have any knowledge about that technology

There's just not enough depth for each topic. Otherwise it would be a good primer for getting started without having to slog through a 3 inch detailed reference on the subject. Another 40 pages would have made a big difference. I think your money is better spent elsewhere.

Worse, the author prefer coding with "Razor"

This is a simple, beginner book on learning MVC, but problem is TOO simple. Whole books has about 137 pages but there is lot of white space on each page, so the real content has only about 3/4. Another words, this book actually has 100 pages. Only touch each topic a little, not for the beginner to use. Although this book cost less but don't think is worth to buy. Worse, the author prefer coding with "Razor", not "ASPX", I have to learn new language alone with reading. Not sure why just use ASP.NET coding standard?!

I like the Youtube "[...]" better. You learn more from this video than the book.

This sequel to Maggie's Dad is one of the author's best!

This is an incredibly sad book. Dawson and Barrie are step-siblings. She always had a crush on him but he distrusts women. During a family vacation in the French Riviera, the shy Barrie gets up the nerve to flirt with Dawson and, cynic that he is, he assumes she just wants to sleep with him. Anyway, he goes to her room that night and they have some less than memorable sex. She is completely ashamed of herself and he is too stuned to say much (what he does say is insulting). What follows is a series of misunderstandings, and, more than five years later, they are both painfully repressed and barely speaking to each other. I cried as I read about about all the hurts thay had inflicted on each other, intentionally or not. The path they took to find each other after everything was long and bumpy and well worth the read.

Maggie's Dad and Man of Ice. WOW! definitely this set is a keeper!
Ah, here we have Dawson Rutherford, age 36 [whee! a man with immense problems for his age] Angry, bitter, distrustful and need I mention jealous?
He is using the beauteous redheaded widow, Leslie Holton and his desire to purchase her property that lies between his ranch and Powell Long's ranch, to lure Barrie back to the home ranch in Sheridan.
You have to hurt for them as you become aware of their torment.
Five years earlier, Dawson the cynical cad took Barrie in a fit of passion. Whoa! you won't believe the emotional trauma that esculates and nearly destroys these two people.
Barrie, now 26, avoids Dawson like the plague and flirts with men by the dozens and Dawson avoids women and has become the "man of ice". Rumors abound about his not likeing women.
Dawson talks Barrie into excepting an emerald "engagement" ring to give the appearance of impending marriage to the widow, Holton.
I really enjoyed Leslie's insight into the facade. Again I don't want to give away the whole gist of the story but the story is heart rending and will keep you reading it in one sitting. It is power-packed with emotion and hard to put down.
Again HIGHLY RECOMMENDED --?? prove it to yourself [even the cover guy SD 1000 looks right for the story]

My favorite Diana Palmer

I think I have read this book over 10 times. My heart just aches when I read of how Barrie still loves Dawson despite the way he has always treated her. She tries to avoid him and let go of her love but she just can't. She has to help him no matter what the cost to her emotion. When Dawson finally tells her about his past and shows her his vulnrablity you will agree that this is Diana Palmer at her best.

Solid series with fun supplements

As a piano teacher of students from beginners through HS for the past 15 years, I am a big fan of the Alfred series. The Lesson Book is a solid teaching tool, and the additional books, including Solo Book, Fun Book, Recital Book, Theory Book, Technique Book, etc. are great resources. The Lesson Books walk a student methodically through the basics, building each lesson on the last. I particularly like the approach through Book 2 and 3 of teaching the I, IV, and V7 chords, then implementing them so consistently. This is always a little confusing to students right at first, but by the middle of this Level 3 book, they have a solid grasp and are delighted to find these chords throughout all of their literature.

I do find that some of the supplementary books are best started a little after the matching Lesson Book. I also find that the Christmas books in the Alfred series are much smaller (fewer songs) and have less variety than some of the other publishers, so even though I own them, I prefer other books.

Very good book, but the kindle version is terrible!!!

Terrible layout for the kindle version. The questions are simply stuck together on each other as a plain text. It makes difficult to reading and search for a question. I repented to having bought the kindle version instead of the paper version.

I really expect that they will make an update!!!
